Whidbey Island Love
This intimate Whidbey Island Wedding was absolutely one of my favorite days of 2016. My good friend and amazing photographer, Jenn Tai (Jenn Tai Photo Artistry) asked me along to second shoot Andi + Rod’s wedding with her. I’ve been so blessed to be able to second shoot a few weddings last year with amazing photographers and friends. Thanks to my year trip abroad to shoot travel assignments – and the resulting break from my wedding business – on my return I had a handful of Saturdays free in summer. So weird for me, and so awesome! With that extra time, I was able to join some of my super talented photographer buddies on their weddings and share in capturing the day. Weddings just make me so excited and so happy, there’s no other way to say it! Sharing Andi + Rod’s wedding day was no exception.
I spent the morning with the guys getting ready and laughing together, while Jenn photographed the beautiful ladies. We captured the gorgeous vow exchange in the gentle winds off the Puget Sound. Portraits found us dodging the very rain drops that really added the perfect romantic PNW touch to the images. As the light fell, the dance floor came alive, and the intimacy of the wedding felt like we were amongst family.
A full day of love, laughter, and a short ferry ride is exactly how I want all my days to go. Thank you so much Andrea and Rod for having me there to capture your day. Jenn, thank you truly for trusting me with your clients and your moments. Your work is inspirational.
