Anna + Josh :: Sodo Park Jewish Wedding in Seattle
In over ten years of photographing weddings, this was the first time I’ve ever shot a groom’s straight razor shave for getting ready, and I really hope it’s not the last time! What an amazing way to start the day! Anna + Josh actually live in Brooklyn, so leave it up them to find the coolest little barbershop with a real New York touch. Seriously a cool morning.
Honestly, that wasn’t even the best part of the day. Capturing Anna and Josh’s tisches was such an emotional way to incorporate friends and family into their wedding. The Jewish traditions that encompassed the afternoon created emotions and smiles and laughter and tears that made for amazing images. I chose to photograph the day up close and personal; to capture the genuine faces and expressions; to get into the action so the dancing and singing and hora and all the events would come alive when you look back through the pictures.
And what a couple to capture. Anna’s amazing laughter and smiles lit up the room, she was absolutely stunning, not only in dress, but also in her wonderful attitude and spirit. Josh’s contagious grin and goofy laughs left my cheeks sore the next day – hours upon hours laughing and smiling will do that to you. The entire day I truly felt immersed in an honest and loving environment made real by such a special couple.
I am completely honored to have been part of their day.
Josh + Anna, congratulations to the both of you. I cannot wait to see how your amazing marriage continues to unfold.
